Regional Scholar Travel Grant

About this program

The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) offers Regional Scholar Travel Grants of up to $1,000 to subsidize travel for eligible scholars presenting papers at its Annual Convention. Awards are based on the paper’s intellectual merit, with consideration for disciplinary and regional balance and preference, when possible, for first-time presenters, junior scholars, and those with limited institutional support. Applicants must be regular ASEEES members, nonstudents, and permanent residents currently residing in eligible Eastern European or Eurasian countries; individuals displaced outside the region by Russia’s war in Ukraine are eligible in 2026. Applications, including a paper abstract, travel budget, statement of need, and CV, are due May 20, and applicants cannot have received the grant within the previous three years.
