Regular ABS Grants

About this program

Australasian Bat Society (ABS) Regular Grants provide three annual awards of AUD 1,500 each to support member-led projects that advance the conservation and/or knowledge of bats in Australasia. Applications require a completed form outlining objectives, methodology, timeline, budget and conservation contribution and are assessed via double-blind review by an ABS selection panel (with occasional external expert input). Applicants must be ABS members, obtain any necessary permits, sign an assistance agreement (80% paid on receipt; remaining 20% paid after submission of an article to the Australasian Bat Society Newsletter), and acknowledge ABS support in outputs. Submit applications in Word format to the ABS Secretary (secretary@ausbats.org.au) by the closing date; late submissions may be rejected and any collected specimens should be offered to approved public zoological collections, with results made freely available where possible.
