About this program

The Alfred Burger Award in Medicinal Chemistry, sponsored by Gilead Sciences, Inc., honors exceptional contributions to medicinal chemistry research with a $5,000 prize, a certificate, and up to $2,500 for travel expenses. Established in 1978 and supported by Gilead since 2016, the award is presented biennially in even-numbered years at the ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry spring meeting. Eligibility is open to industry professionals, faculty, chemistry professionals, and international applicants, with nominations accepted annually from July 1 to November 1.
