About this program

The APA Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) — Services for Transition Age Youth Fellowship, funded by SAMHSA, offers financial support and training to terminal master’s students to advance development of mental health services for transition-age youth (ages 16–25) from communities of color. The program selects and supports master’s-level ethnic minority students whose prior experiences and career goals indicate they will contribute to reducing mental health disparities among ethnic and racial minority youth and their families. Eligible applicants are terminal master’s students—particularly in psychology or counseling—who are members of ethnic minority communities and demonstrate a commitment to careers serving transition-age youth and their families.
