About this program

The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) offers Research and Networking Grants to support multinational research and networking projects that advance clinical excellence in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, funding up to EUR 50,000 per project for work to be completed within two years (up to two projects funded in the current cycle). The main applicant must be an ESPGHAN member and proposals must involve collaboration across more than one country with at least two ESPGHAN members based in different centres; non-members may only participate alongside ESPGHAN members. Funds are paid to the lead applicant’s academic or hospital institution, personnel costs are limited to 10% of the total budget per centre (EUR 5,000) with a maximum of three centres claiming that 10% (total personnel maximum EUR 15,000), and payments are disbursed 30% at start, 50% after the first-year progress report, and 20% on completion upon receipt of invoices. Applications must include a signed form, main applicant CV, project description (max 3 A4 pages), relevance statement, lay summary, detailed budget and distribution plan, finance officer and institution director letters, and two referees; final report and budget statement are required within three months of project completion and publications must acknowledge ESPGHAN.
