Research Cluster Grants (Dolores Huerta Research Center for the Americas)

About this program

Dolores Huerta Research Center for the Americas is offering small Research Cluster Grants to support independent collaborative projects in Chicanx/Latinx/Latin American studies, migration, cross-border/hemispheric studies, and human rights, including conferences, workshops, seminars, and projects that can develop into larger outputs (websites, edited volumes, etc.). Awards support reading groups ($300–$500 depending on size) with a maximum grant of $800; cosponsorships for aligned events are welcome. UC Santa Cruz faculty and graduate students in good academic standing may apply as coordinators and clusters may include faculty and/or graduate students from any division (cross-divisional groups encouraged). Grant recipients must acknowledge Huerta Center support in public events and publications, return unused funds at fiscal year end, and submit an activity/progress report by mid‑June; applications are currently closed and will reopen Fall 2026.
