About this program

Research For Life, a charitable foundation, offers competitive Grants in Aid of Research (two rounds annually) to support individual investigator-led research projects; award amounts are unspecified and applicants must state requested funding and priorities, with salaries and institutional overheads explicitly excluded. Applications must be submitted electronically (PDF/Word) and be concise (≤5 pages exclusive of CV) with a signed Administrative Agreement and institutional signatories; required attachments include an abbreviated CV (max two pages), a high-resolution JPEG photo, and a 100–200 word lay media summary. Proposals must describe objectives, background, methods, significance, research site/resources, an itemised budget and priorities, other support, project duration and time commitments, two suggested independent expert reviewers, and an ethics statement; ethical approval is required before funds are released (applications may be considered while review is pending). Successful grantees must provide progress and final reports (including a lay executive summary up to 400 words), all awards are subject to Board approval, and applicants must not contact Board or Research Advisory Committee members about outcomes.
