About this program

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies (BIAAS) offers Research & Project Grants of up to $25,000 for work advancing understanding of the historical relationship between the United States and Austria, including Habsburg Austria. Eligible projects may include archival research, books, dissertations, exhibits, and media projects in history, politics, economics, law, or cultural studies. Applicants must submit a proposal summary, narrative, detailed budget, funding information, CV, bibliography, and two reference letters; organizations must also provide 501(c)(3) documentation and board lists. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. EDT on March 31, 2027, with the designated applicant serving as the project’s principal investigator or responsible lead.
