About this program

KWF Foundation’s Research Project funding (Programme Research & Implementation) supports hypothesis-driven, scope-defined research projects aimed at accelerating translation of scientific results into practical applications, typically running for about four years (longer durations require justification). Project plans must define goals, expected results, duration, costs and research group composition; the main execution must be in the Netherlands (limited foreign work and international internships for scientific personnel permitted when justified). Eligible applicants must appoint a project leader with a PhD who is employed by a Dutch institute at project start and during the project, ensure at least one scientific researcher contributes ≥0.5 FTE per year, and substantiate the added value of each collaborating organisation—projects involving four or more organisations should be submitted as Consortium proposals.
