Resh-Rosenberg Africa/Asia Travel Award

About this program

Established in 2025 by Vince and Cheryl Resh and supported by the Society for Freshwater Science (SFS), the Resh‑Rosenberg Africa/Asia Travel Award provides $2,500 to fund travel for two SFS members from Africa or Asia to attend the SFS Annual Meeting, with SFS partially matching the award by covering meeting registration. Eligible applicants are 3rd‑year or higher Ph.D. students or early‑career researchers/professors within five years of earning their Ph.D. working in freshwater sciences who are originally from and currently residing in an African or Asian country. Applicants must be SFS members, present a talk or poster in a contributed, special, or poster session at the Annual Meeting, and attend the entire meeting (Sunday–Thursday).
