Residents & Fellows-in-Training Humanitarian Travel Grants

About this program

American Academy of Otolaryngology‑Head and Neck Surgery (AAO‑HNS) Foundation offers Residents & Fellows‑in‑Training Humanitarian Travel Grants of $1,000 (up to 25 awards annually) to support a minimum one‑week period of otolaryngology service in seriously underserved domestic or international locations. Eligible applicants are resident members who will have completed at least two years of accredited otolaryngology residency (excluding internship) at the time of service and academy members in training fellowships, with priority given to PGY‑4/5 residents and fellows; prior recipients are ineligible. Awardees must secure institutional approval at the host site, raise additional funds for travel and living expenses, complete the service within one year of the award (or return the funds), and meet application deadlines of Nov 15 for missions Jan–Jun or May 15 for missions Jul–Dec.
