RFP: Global Health and Wellbeing in an Era of Transformative AI

Coefficient Giving invites proposals to fund research, policy development, implementation, and field-building that help ensure advances in AI improve global health and wellbeing—with a focus on risks and benefits for the global poor and on preparing health systems for transformative-AI scenarios rather than funding routine “AI for good” tool deployments. Priority areas include seeding new organizations and direct implementation alongside research and policy work in themes such as biopharma pipeline bottlenecks, LMIC occupational exposure, data public goods, regulatory and clinical-trial capacity, digital public infrastructure, adaptive social protection, and related economic and grantmaking adaptations. Applications are open globally to individuals, academic institutions, think tanks, nonprofits and suitably structured for-profits, with applicants based in or with deep knowledge of LMICs encouraged; most grants run up to two years and fall into exploratory (<$100k), standard ($100k–$1M) and large ($1M–$10M) categories (Coefficient expects to allocate $10–30M through the RFP). The rolling review runs through an acceptance window ending August 21 (year not specified); proposals are evaluated on importance, neglectedness, and tractability and should clarify likely direct impact and include public communication or policy engagement plans.
