The Pediatric Pharmacy Association (PPA) offers the Richard A. Helms Award of Excellence in Pediatric Pharmacy Practice to honor a practitioner who has made sustained, exemplary contributions to pediatric patient care, pediatric pharmacy practice, PPA service, education/precepting/mentorship, and scholarship. The award includes a $1,500 honorarium and annual meeting registration, and the recipient is expected to deliver a one-hour career-pathway lecture for CE credit at the PPA Annual Meeting. Eligible nominees must have a minimum of 15 years in pediatric pharmacy practice and be active PPA members for at least five continuous years; nominations must be submitted by a PPA member (no self-nomination), include a nominator statement (≤500 words), nominee contact information, names/contact information for three recommenders (at least one LOR from a PPA member), and after nomination Veritas will request the nominee’s CV via Pheedloop. Letters of recommendation should describe relationship, duration and capacity of acquaintance, examples of excellence, contributions to education/precepting/mentoring, and scholarly activity; the Nominations Committee reviews submissions and notifies recipients in December.
