Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member

NASPA offers the national Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member to recognize sustained excellence in teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and professional association service within student affairs graduate preparation programs. Nominations for the 2027 award are accepted from July 29 through October 1, 2026, and may be submitted by any NASPA member. Nominees must be full-time faculty members with at least 10 years of teaching experience in student affairs graduate programs, teach graduate students annually, and demonstrate sustained mentorship, scholarly achievement, and significant professional association contributions.
