Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award

The Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Medical Society, in partnership with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), annually honors four faculty members who have distinguished themselves in medical student education with the Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award. Each recipient receives $7,500, while the nominating institution receives $2,500 for teaching activities and, where applicable, an additional $1,000 for its AΩA chapter. Faculty members in basic science, preclinical, or clinical disciplines at LCME-accredited medical schools are eligible; AΩA membership is not required, though members must be in active status. Applications, including a nomination, bibliography, and curriculum vitae, are due April 9, 2027, and schools whose nominee wins may not submit another nominee for three years.
