The Dedalus Foundation’s Robert Motherwell First Book Award supports the publication of an outstanding first scholarly book that makes a significant contribution to the study of modern art. The annual award includes a cash prize intended to assist with publication expenses. Applicants must be emerging scholars who have not previously published a scholarly monograph and must submit a qualifying book-length manuscript in the field of modern art.
