Rolling opportunity seeds (ARIA rolling call)

About this program

Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) is running an open, rolling "opportunity seed" call to fund small, ambitious, high‑risk/high‑reward projects across its defined opportunity spaces, offering £10,000–£500,000 per project (inclusive of VAT) for up to 36 months. Applicants may be individuals (including unaffiliated), universities, research institutions, companies, charities or public sector bodies, with priority for projects based in the UK or where >50% of activity and costs occur in the UK; exceptional non‑UK projects may be considered if they substantially benefit the UK. Proposals are short (≈2–3 hours to complete), reviewed monthly with outcomes typically communicated by the end of the following month, and must show clear alignment to an ARIA opportunity space, novelty, a defined plan and milestones, and a project lead committing substantial time (typically ≥50%, ideally ~80%); out‑of‑scope submissions will be rejected prior to full review.
