Rosetrees Trust offers the NEXT Award to support one exceptional researcher pursuing a bold, patient-focused medical innovation toward clinical or market adoption. Awards provide £150,000 annually for three years, with potential continuation funding of up to £300,000 for two additional years, across therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, digital health, and cell or regenerative medicine. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent, demonstrate scientific excellence, competitive funding and translational leadership, and usually hold a tenured post or secured salary support for the grant period. Projects must address a significant unmet need, include patient-centred design, provide proof-of-concept evidence, and present a credible, milestone-driven development pathway; institutions may submit only one preliminary application.
