About this program

Russell Sage Foundation’s Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration program supports innovative, investigator-initiated social science research on how race, ethnicity, nativity, and legal status—and their interactions with other social categories—shape social, economic, and political outcomes for immigrants, U.S.-born racial and ethnic minorities, and native-born whites. The program favors multidisciplinary proposals that strengthen data, theory, and methods and that advance understanding of how to foster a pluralist society; projects may address any combination of race, ethnicity, and immigration topics. Applicants should be social science researchers or research teams proposing original, methodologically rigorous work with clear relevance to the program’s goals.
