SAGES Research Grants

About this program

The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) offers competitive research grants of up to $30,000 for one year to support original bench or clinical research in gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery. Funding is awarded to institutions and may support personnel, equipment, and services, but not the principal investigator’s salary or indirect costs; projects must involve commercially available products. Principal investigators must be current SAGES members in good standing by the November 6, 2026 deadline, with Candidate Members and investigators within five years of independent surgical practice especially encouraged to apply. Applications are evaluated on scientific merit, study design, significance, investigator qualifications, facilities, and feasibility.
