Salaman Awards (research grants and awards)

About this program

The Tools and Trades History Society (TATHS) offers the Salaman Awards, providing annual funds of up to £2,000 toward proposed research projects or as awards for completed research on tools and trades history. Any person or group (TATHS members or non-members) may apply by downloading and submitting the required application form with a synopsis/particulars; there is no formal deadline but earlier-in-year submissions are more likely to be funded. Applications are assessed by Executive Trustees for originality, contribution to the Society’s objectives, and suitability for publication, with final decisions by the Executive Committee; it is exceptional for the entire sum to be awarded to a single project.
