Sam Hassenbusch Young Neurosurgeon Award

About this program

The Congress of Neurological Surgeons sponsors the annual Sam Hassenbusch Young Neurosurgeon Award to recognize outstanding socioeconomic research by early-career neurosurgeons; the winning abstract receives a $500 prize and is presented at the CNS annual meeting. Eligibility is limited to neurosurgeons within five years of completing training, and entries must be submitted as abstracts to the CNS annual meeting—there is no separate application. Winners are selected by the CNS annual meeting Program Committee based on originality, merit, innovation, and scientific process, and the committee may elect not to present the award in a year when no abstract meets its standards.
