Samuel Arnold Greeley Award

Administered by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) through the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) and endowed by associates of Samuel A. Greeley, the Samuel Arnold Greeley Award recognizes the most valuable original paper in an ASCE journal on environmental engineering topics such as water supply, pollution control, storm drainage, or solid waste facilities. The lead author receives a plaque and an honorarium (amount set annually from award fund income) and other recipients receive certificates; eligible papers must appear online in an ASCE journal between July and June of the year preceding the award. Eligible applicants must be authors of the published paper and ASCE members engaged as principals or employees in the private practice of environmental engineering — for two authors one must meet the requirement, and for more than two a majority must do so. Nominations are submitted via the ASCE nomination form with a signed cover letter, one copy of the paper as it appears online, and a completed contributing authors list; the listed nomination deadline is October 1.
