Sandra L. Panther Fellowship in the History of Family Medicine

About this program

The Center for the History of Family Medicine (CHFM) awards the annual Sandra L. Panther Fellowship—a $3,000 prize paid upon completion of research using CHFM collections to advance understanding of the history of general practice/family medicine; projects must be completed between June 1 and December 31 of the award year and produce a durable product (e.g., manuscript, media, oral histories, artwork). Eligible applicants include family physicians, students, residents, historians, scholars, educators, scientists, and other health professionals, with an emphasis on diversity within the family medicine community. Applications require a completed fellowship form, a current CV (≤3 pages), one letter of support, a project description (≤2 pages) with objectives, timeline and budget, and a list of archival records to be consulted; the next application period opens January 15 and closes March 31 at 11:59 PM CST.
