Scholarships for Field Study

About this program

The National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) offers eighteen $750 scholarships annually to support undergraduate participation in intensive, field-based geoscience courses, including face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid formats. Awards may be used for courses emphasizing field observation, data collection, analysis, and synthesis across geoscience disciplines; two additional awards support women through the Association for Women Geoscientists. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and plan to attend a primarily field-based geoscience course lasting at least three weeks. Applications, including a 250-word goals essay, transcript, and reference information, are due February 14.
