Scialog: Quantum Matter and Information (QMI) 2025-2027

About this program

Scialog's Quantum Matter and Information (QMI) program, sponsored by Kevin Wells, is a 2025–2027 initiative offering team awards and fellowship participation to catalyze interdisciplinary research on quantum coherence, entanglement, and the quantum-to-classical transition, with applications to quantum materials, precision measurement, sensing, and information. The program will convene roughly 50 early-career faculty as Fellows and about 10 senior scientists as Facilitators to shape major questions, guide discussions, and evaluate team proposals. Eligible applicants are early-career faculty—from first-year appointments to recently post-tenure—working in physics, chemistry, materials science, surface science, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields; applications for 2027 open in June.
