About this program
The Searle Scholars Program supports innovative, potentially high-impact independent research in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related fields of chemistry, medicine, and biological sciences, with awards activated July 1, 2027. Applicants must be nominated by a participating institution and submit online applications by September 30, 2026; unsolicited applications are not accepted. Eligible candidates must have begun their first tenure-track or equivalent assistant professor appointment on or after May 1, 2025, and should be pursuing primarily basic, rather than purely clinical, research careers.
