About this program
The American Museum of Natural History’s Richard Gilder Graduate School offers seed research grants to fund field-based projects and use of the Museum’s scientific collections, disbursed as modest short-term awards from six funds (Frank M. Chapman Ornithology; Theodore Roosevelt Memorial; Lerner‑Gray Fund for Marine Research; Collection Study; Sydney Anderson Travel; and Maxwell/Hanrahan Travel and Scientific Illustration Internship). Awards support advanced graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and early-career scientific researchers who are beginning careers in disciplines represented at AMNH.
