About this program

Cisco Systems (RFP-15-97) invites academic research proposals to improve semiconductor reliability across technologies—including silicon, compound semiconductors, and graphene/carbon nanotubes—and to characterize, model, and mitigate failure mechanisms such as radiation-induced soft errors, wear-out, and defect-related failures in memories, logic, ASICs, FPGAs and other components. Applicants should be university researchers; proposal details, general requirements and FAQs are available on Cisco’s Research Gifts webpage, proposals may be revised after preliminary review, and RFPs may be withdrawn as topics are funded, so submit promptly. Intellectual property remains with the university, Cisco expects customary scholarly dissemination and prefers promising results be released without restrictive licenses; questions can be sent to research@cisco.com.
