SES Book Award Nominations (2025)

About this program

The Society for Educational Studies (SES) invites nominations for the 2025 SES Book Awards to recognize recent scholarly books in educational studies; winners (up to four, one per category) receive a £1,000 prize, a certificate, and publicity. Nominations may be submitted by publishers, SES members, or trustees—titles are usually drawn from British Journal of Educational Studies reviews (arrangements for reviews can be made) and should be emailed to soc.for.ed.studies@gmail.com, normally in early 2025, with awards announced at the SES Annual Fellows Dinner in November. Eligible books must have been published within the past two–three years, be relevant to educational studies, and include at least one author who is based in and affiliated to a UK educational institution at the time of the award; SES Executive authors will be ineligible for the pecuniary prize and Trustees with nominated books will abstain from judging.
