About this program

The Community Foundation of Central Georgia administers the Sgt. Rodney M. Davis, USMC (MOH) Memorial Scholarship Fund, awarding four $1,000-per-year scholarships (one new recipient annually) to support higher education for JROTC cadets from Bibb County high schools. Eligible applicants are graduating seniors who are current or former JROTC cadets from Bibb County, accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, a record of community service, and plans to enroll full-time. Applications require a short essay on how Sgt. Davis inspired the applicant and the email of a JROTC advisor who will submit a recommendation addressing JROTC participation, service, and character; applicants may be interviewed and preference is given to cadets with two or more years in JROTC. Recipients may renew the scholarship annually for up to four years subject to maintaining eligibility and Foundation follow-up, with one probationary semester allowed if GPA falls below 3.0.
