SHEAR Distinguished Service Award

About this program

The Society for Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR) presents its Distinguished Service Award to honor sustained, generous service advancing the society’s goals and programs. The award includes a formal citation, plaque, permanent recognition in the JER and on SHEAR’s website, and lifetime complimentary membership and conference registration. Nominees must demonstrate outstanding service to SHEAR, significant contributions to early American history scholarship, and commitment to education and public discourse. Nominations must be submitted through the web form to the SHEAR president by February 1.
