SICB Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) for Graduate Students

Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) offers the Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) to support graduate student research in integrative and comparative biology, typically funding 25–35 awards totaling about $30,000 with individual awards up to $1,000. Applicants must be currently enrolled graduate students who are active SICB members (or join for the grant year), must affiliate with one SICB division, may apply to only one SICB program (GIAR or FGST), and previous SICB award recipients are ineligible. Awards are payable to individuals and must be used directly for the proposed investigation (no institutional indirect costs or major travel to meetings/distant field sites); certain field-related expenses are permitted with evidence of travel funding, and applications are submitted electronically with a critical proposed-investigation section (max 3,000 characters).
