About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis (SABA) offers the Sidney W. and Janet R. Bijou Grant, providing up to US$12,000 for doctoral student research on behavioral development within Bijou’s natural science framework. Research should examine observable organism–environment interactions related to child development and behavioral processes, including basic or translational studies, rather than disorder-specific treatments. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a doctoral program with appropriate behavioral faculty and resources, have at least six months remaining after funding, and demonstrate commitment to behavior-analytic developmental research. Applications require a five-page proposal, biosketch, advisor support letter, institutional resource verification, and detailed budget; the deadline is January 13, 2027.
