Sight and Sound Subvention

About this program

The Society for American Music offers the Sight and Sound Subvention, providing up to $750 to assist publication of non‑print materials (e.g., film, DVD, CD, other audio/visual formats, radio programs, websites, or similar projects) that document or promote American music; supported materials must be made available through a commercial source rather than the applicant’s personal pages. Applicants must be performers, editors, or producers who are current members of the Society for American Music. Required materials are an abstract (≤500 words) describing the project and its contribution to American music, a brief publication/distribution plan, a financial statement detailing expenses to be covered by the subvention, and a brief CV or resume; do not submit sample sound or video excerpts with the initial application.
