Simons Collaborations in Mathematics and the Physical Sciences

About this program

The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Sciences division offers Simons Collaborations grants to advance fundamental scientific questions in mathematics, theoretical physics, and theoretical computer science through highly collaborative research teams. Up to three collaborations may receive as much as $2 million annually for four years, inclusive of indirect costs, beginning January 1, 2028. The collaboration director must hold a tenured or equivalent position at an institution with a Ph.D. program, while PIs and co-investigators must hold tenured or tenure-track or equivalent positions; eligible institutions may be U.S. or international public or private educational institutions or stand-alone research centers. Directors must submit letters of intent by October 29, 2026, at noon Eastern Time, with invited full proposals due February 24, 2027.
