SLB Excellence in Leukocyte Biology (ELB) Awards

About this program

The Society for Leukocyte Biology (SLB) offers the Excellence in Leukocyte Biology (ELB) Awards to recognize outstanding early- and mid‑career established researchers conducting independent leukocyte biology research; prizes are $2,000 for each category winner and $1,000 for finalist(s), with finalists (up to three per category) giving 20‑minute oral presentations at the SLB Annual Meeting and winners expected to contribute an invited review to the Journal of Leukocyte Biology. Applicants are required to be current SLB members and to be established investigators no longer in training, working independently in academic, industry, or government settings (independent, often peer‑reviewed, funding is typical; exceptions for some government/industry candidates may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis). Previous top‑prize winners are ineligible to reapply.
