The Society for Leukocyte Biology (SLB) annually presents the SLB Legacy Keynote Lecture Award—the society's highest honor—recognizing a member for outstanding contributions to leukocyte biology research; the award has been given since 1980. The recipient is invited to deliver the annual meeting keynote, author a complimentary Legacy Award Review for the Journal of Leukocyte Biology, and contribute to the society newsletter, and receives complimentary meeting registration, travel and accommodation plus a $1,000 stipend. Nominees must be SLB members submitted with biographies for council consideration; the SLB council votes annually, evaluating candidates’ impact, research contributions, and publication record to select a highly respected investigator.
