The Sleep Research Society (SRS) offers the Distinguished Scientist Award, its highest honor recognizing a single individual's significant, original, and sustained career-long contributions to sleep and circadian research across basic, translational, clinical, or theoretical domains. Selection emphasizes a substantial, high-impact body of research with national and international influence, additional contributions that have advanced the field, and the nominee’s adherence to the highest ethical standards including inclusive excellence; nominations for the 2026 cycle are closed and the next cycle opens August 2026. Nominators must be SRS members; nominees need not be members unless self-nominated, and current SRS board members and editors-in-chief are ineligible.
