Sloan Distribution Grant

About this program

Film Independent, with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, offers a $50,000 Sloan Distribution Grant to help an independent narrative feature film enter or strengthen its distribution phase. The film must center on authentic science, mathematics, technology, or economics and demonstrate a compelling marketing or distribution strategy to expand its audience. Applicants must be U.S. legal residents and producers of a narrative fiction feature at least 70 minutes long; the winning filmmaker must become a Film Independent member. Applications require a cover letter, project and distribution details, key personnel biographies, an online film link, synopsis, and application fee.
