Small Grants Program

About this program

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven offers the Small Grants Program, providing grants of up to $15,000 to support small nonprofit organizations in the Greater New Haven area. Funding can be used for project support, capacity building, or general operating expenses, with typical grants ranging from $3,000 to $7,500.

Eligible applicants must be small nonprofit organizations with an operating budget of $2M or less, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) or have a fiscal agent with appropriate tax status, and serve within the Community Foundation's twenty-town region. Organizations cannot apply if they have a current Responsive grant ending after December 31, 2025, and can only receive a Small Grant once every two years.
