Small Research Grant

About this program

The Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) offers the Small Research Grant to fund pioneering, innovative research in infection prevention and control and nosocomial infections, providing up to £10,000 per project for a maximum of 24 months. Grants are aimed at small-scale or proof-of-principle studies that demonstrate an understanding of clinical practice in infection prevention and control and may support future larger applications. Eligible applicants must be based at an institution in the UK or Republic of Ireland and the principal investigator must be a HIS member at time of submission; small grants are normally non-recurring and only one award is made each year (next planned for 2026/27).
