SNAME Student Paper Awards

About this program

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) offers Student Paper Honor Prizes and Awards for outstanding and original papers prepared and presented by undergraduate or graduate students at SNAME or section meetings. Honor Prizes provide a citation and $600, while Awards provide a citation and $400. Eligible authors must be enrolled in a recognized engineering program leading to a bachelor’s or advanced degree and progressing at least one-third of a full-time rate; thesis-based papers must be accepted within six months of institutional thesis approval and not previously published or presented except as institutionally required. Nominations must be submitted by a SNAME section, Papers Committee, or Marine Technology Committee by June 30 and include biographical information and supporting materials.
