Offered by the Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS), the SNRS Award for Research in Empathetic Care for Populations with Distinct Health Needs recognizes Southern-region researchers or teams whose scholarship measurably improves care for communities with distinct health needs (e.g., advancing care approaches, developing interventions to address resource gaps, overcoming access barriers, or promoting system receptivity). Nominees must be SNRS members and researchers in the Southern region; nominations (including self-nominations) are submitted electronically by the posted deadline (typically October 1) and are reviewed by the SNRS Awards Committee with final approval by the Governing Board. The nomination packet must be uploaded as a single PDF and include a nomination letter (≤2 pages), two letters of support, a signed consent to attend the Annual Conference to receive the award, the nominee’s full CV, and two published or in‑press research articles; incomplete packets are not accepted, all materials become SNRS property, and award recipients are responsible for their own attendance-related expenses.
