Social Enterprises

About this program

The Columbus Foundation offers limited direct investments and grant support to nonprofit social enterprises to strengthen organizations that generate social impact through revenue‑producing activities. Applicants are encouraged to first engage with the Foundation’s coaching and readiness programs—GiveBackHack, SEA Change, and Innovation Catalyst—since direct investments are made on a limited basis and specific award amounts are not provided. Eligible applicants include existing nonprofits currently operating a social enterprise; new nonprofits or organizations launching a social enterprise may be considered based on readiness, and all proposals must demonstrate substantial benefit to Franklin County; applications are accepted on a rolling basis (contact Erin Scott, escott@columbusfoundation.org).
