Social Issues Dissertation Award

About this program

The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues offers the Social Issues Dissertation Award to recognize doctoral research demonstrating scientific excellence and potential application to social problems. The award provides $1,000 for first prize and $500 for second prize, with applications due annually on May 1. Eligible dissertations must be in psychology or a social science with psychological subject matter, accepted between March 1 of the preceding year and the deadline, and successfully defended before the deadline. Applicants must submit a 500-word dissertation summary and cover sheet; finalists must provide advisor certification and a full electronic dissertation.
