Sophysa Young Investigator Award

About this program

The CNS Foundation, in collaboration with Sophysa USA, offers the Sophysa Young Investigator Award to support early-career neurosurgeons pursuing research and patient-care advances in traumatic brain injury and/or neurocritical care. Two awards are distributed annually, each providing $7,500 for research activities and travel to the CNS or AANS annual meeting. Applicants must be CNS and/or AANS members in good standing and members of the AANS/CNS Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care, and must be practicing neurosurgeons in the United States, Mexico, or Canada with one to five years of practice. Applications require a current CV, an 800-word research intent statement, and a personal statement; awardees must attend a subsequent annual meeting to present their research and submit a career-impact statement.
