South Carolina Lowcountry Artistic Vitality Grants

About this program

The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation offers the South Carolina Lowcountry Artistic Vitality Grants to provide general operating support and other assistance to arts organizations that reflect the vitality and diversity of the Lowcountry and to strengthen the regional arts ecosystem. Funding is available to nonprofit arts organizations operating in Horry, Georgetown, Berkeley, Dorchester, Charleston, Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort counties. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities or have a fiscal sponsor, be in compliance with the South Carolina Secretary of State, have completed at least one full fiscal year and one full production season, pay staff and/or artists, and demonstrate or strongly promise artistic vitality; program staff must speak with applicants and view their work prior to consideration (contact amelia@gddf.org when performance schedules are known). Not eligible are individuals; organizations primarily focused on arts education or social services; religious, political, or lobbying activities; stand‑alone media or events; or requests for endowments, capital projects, facilities, or debt reduction; specific award amounts are not listed.
