SPS Reporter Award

About this program

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) National Office offers the SPS Reporter Award to provide partial travel and registration support for undergraduate SPS members who attend and report on national physics meetings by submitting 2–3 page reflection articles. Awards reimburse travel expenses up to $300 for individual reporters, up to $250 per person for chapter reporters, and $75 for virtual registration; funds are distributed by check upon approval of the submitted article. Applicants must be SPS national undergraduate members, apply online at least 10 days before the meeting, and submit the required article (approximately 500 words per reporter) with high‑resolution photos, captions, and credits within 30 days after the meeting. A student may receive only one Reporter Award per academic year, may not receive a Reporter Award and an SPS Travel Award for the same meeting, and awards are granted on a first‑come, first‑served basis; payment requires a W‑9.
