SPSSI Awards for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring

About this program

The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) offers one or two annual Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Awards recognizing excellence in teaching and mentoring related to the psychological study of social issues. Recipients receive $1,000, a plaque, and recognition in the SPSSI Forward newsletter. Nominees must be SPSSI members who have taught or mentored full time for at least five years after earning a doctorate and may work at institutions ranging from community colleges to graduate universities. Applications, including a statement, CV, student evaluations, three support letters (at least one from a current or former student), and documentation of teaching and mentoring excellence, are due February 15 annually; self-nominations are encouraged.
